5. Cookies
On our website, we use so-called "cookies". Cookies are text files that are transferred from a server to the hard disk of your computer and remain there for the duration of the session or until deletion, depending on the type of cookie and the settings of your Internet browser, and through which certain personal data are transmitted to us.
Cookies are used to store your system and usage information relating to the use of our website. They may also contain a unique identifier that allows us and other website providers to distinguish your system from other systems and to recognize it the next time you visit.
We use cookies to provide functionality to our website, such as the shopping cart, enabling you to browse and shop our products, or to increase the user friendliness and functionality of our website.
For this purpose, we use the following for our website:
Necessary cookies
We use “necessary cookies" to enable the comprehensive use of this website. This concerns in particular the correct display of content.
Functional cookies: Functional cookies are necessary to ensure the operation of technical modules. In doing so, the user may be offered improved, personal functions, if desired.
Marketing and targeting cookies: The use of marketing or targeting cookies is also possible. These are used to target users according to their interests and thus to make the display of advertising more specific. Such information and visits to the advertising offers can be evaluated and shared with third parties in order to improve the targeting and advertising of third parties but also each site functionality.
Analysis cookies: Insofar as analysis services are used on our website, this is usually associated with the setting of one or more cookies that record and track your user behavior. Among other things, data is collected about you and your system, your visit to our website (e.g. content accessed, interests, purchases, clicks and visit duration), the visit of preceding or subsequent websites and the use of advertisements.
In detail, we use:
Transient Cookies: Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser or log out. These are, in particular, session cookies. They store a so-called session-ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to the session. When you return to our website, your system can be recognized.
Persistent Cookies:Persistent cookies are automatically deleted or switched off after an individually specified period of time. They are used to recognize your system even after the session has ended.
Third-Party Cookies: We use analytical cookies to monitor the anonymous user behavior on our website. In addition, we use advertising cookies. With these cookies, the user behavior can be tracked for advertising and targeted marketing purposes. Social media cookies allow us to connect to your social networks and share content from our website within your networks.
Other Technologies: These functions are not based on cookies, but on similar technical mechanisms, such as flash cookies, HTML5 objects or an analysis of your browser settings. The result is likewise that we may use the technologies described below. Here, too, you can of course consent or object.
Any use of cookies that is not strictly necessary to ensure our website functions correctly is only permitted with your express consent. This applies in particular to the use of advertising, targeting or analysis cookies. You can prevent or switch off the use of cookies at any time by choosing the appropriate settings for the Internet browser used. You can at any time delete cookies that have already been stored. Without cookies, however, various functions of our website may be limited or not usable at all.
In addition, you should occasionally delete the browser history manually to remove existing cookies.
For more information on "cookies", please visit https://www.flaktgroup.com/en/flaktgroup-digital-services/cookies.
6. How We Use Your Personal Data
E-Mail / Contact Form
If you contact us by e-mail or contact form, we will process the data you provided in order to answer your questions. Insofar as the storage is no longer necessary, we delete the transmitted data or limit the processing. This is dependent on legal storage obligations. We rely on the legal basis of consent for this processing.
Cookiebot
We use the service of Cookiebot on our website. This is a service provided by Usercentrics A/S, Havnegade 39, 1058 Copenhagen, Denmark.
Cookiebot automatically creates a cookie banner for website visitors. For this purpose, the service checks all cookies and tracking measures of a website. We can thus check whether our website complies with the requirements of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 and determine what cookies our website collects and passes on to third parties. We store your personal data on the basis of an order processing contract for a period of 12 months in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR. You can object to the storage of your data at any time or deactivate the execution of the code of Cookiebot in your browser settings.
MailChimp
Our newsletter is sent with the help of MailChimp. This is a mailing service for e-mails of the Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE No. 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA ("MailChimp").
MailChimp stores the e-mail addresses of subscribers to the newsletter and possibly other data provided by subscribers during registration, typically on servers in the USA. Furthermore, MailChimp collects data via web beacons contained in the newsletters, which are retrieved by MailChimp servers when the newsletter is opened. In this context, technical information such as information about your Internet browser and operating system as well as your IP address and the time of retrieval is collected.
The data is used by MailChimp for the sending of the newsletter, for the execution of the subscription and unsubscription procedures and for statistical evaluations. According to its own statements, MailChimp may also use the data to improve the offer, for example to technically optimize the sending and presentation of the newsletter or for economic purposes based on the determination of the target groups and the reading behavior. However, MailChimp does not use the data of subscribers to write to them itself or to pass the data on to third parties.
The privacy policy of MailChimp may be seen at http://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.
Google Analytics (GA4)
For our website we use Google Analytics, a tracking tool of Google, LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies" (see above under "cookies"), which are stored on your computer and allow an analysis of your use of the website. The thus generated information about your use of our website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google beforehand within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide further services associated with the website use and Internet use to the operator of the website. The IP address transmitted by your Internet browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.
The data sent and linked with cookies, user recognition (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs will automatically be deleted after 14 months. Data whose retention period has been reached is automatically deleted once a month. Further information on data protection can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Furthermore, you can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Google Maps
On our website we use Google Maps API, an online map service of Google, LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google") to visually display geographical information.
When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about the use of map functions by visitors. More detailed information about Google's data processing can be found in the Google privacy policy.
There you can also amend your personal data protection settings in the Data Privacy Center, see https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Fonts
On our website we use the Google Fonts font library to display the contents correctly and in a graphically appealing manner, regardless of the Internet browser used. Google Fonts is a service of Google, LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). When the font library is accessed by opening our website, this is done locally. Otherwise, a connection to Google servers is only established with your consent, usually to servers in the USA.. In this case, it is possible that this may involve data being transmitted to Google, such as which Internet pages you have accessed, the access time, your IP address and which Internet browser you use. Further information and the data protection information can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Google AdWords
Our website uses Google AdWords with Google Conversion Tracking, a service of Google, LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"), see https://policies.google.com/privacy. If you have reached our website via an advertisement placed by Google, Google AdWords will place a cookie on your computer.
This enables us and Google to recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and was directed to that page. Cookies cannot be tracked through AdWords customer websites. After 30 days, these cookies lose their validity and are not used for personal identification. Conversion statistics tell customers the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were directed to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. The setting of a cookie can be rejected through browser settings. This can lead to functional limitations of the website.
YouTube
We use embedded YouTube videos on our website. YouTube is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("YouTube"). When you visit a page with an embedded YouTube video, a connection to YouTube servers is established.
This tells YouTube which pages you are visiting. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can also personally associate this information with you. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. When a video is started, YouTube uses cookies (see "Cookies" above) to collect data about your user behavior. You can prevent this by blocking the storage of cookies in your Internet browser. Further information and data protection information can be found at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
Social Media
We do not collect any personal data ourselves by means of the social plugins shown or through their use because we use simple link or 2-click solutions. This serves to prevent data from being transferred to the service providers without the user's knowledge. Such a transfer only takes place when the link has been used and a login has been carried out in the user profile. A connection to the respective platform is then established. Data can then be transferred to the service provider and stored there in order to link interests and offers. The following providers are available:
- Meta (formerly Facebook): FacebookMeta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland, see https://de-de.facebook.com/terms
- X: Twitter International Company, One Cumberland Place, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, D02 AX07, Ireland, see https://www.x.com/privacy

You have the possibility to register on our website and log in. In doing so, you will be requested to provide us with certain personal data, which will then be transmitted to us. We rely on the legal basis of performing a contractual obligation to you to process this data. This data is collected and stored by us exclusively for internal use and for our own purposes. We may arrange for this data to be passed on to third parties, e.g. to a service provider or an order processor to process the contractual relationship, who also uses the personal data exclusively for internal use attributable to us.
By registering and logging in to our website, your IP address, the date as well as the time of registration can also be saved. We rely on the legal basis of protecting our legitimate interests to do this, and this is done for the purpose of preventing misuse of our services and, if necessary, creating the opportunity to investigate criminal offences.
If you voluntarily make personal data available to us, the processing serves to offer you content or services which, for factual reasons, can only be offered to registered users. You have the possibility at any time to change the personal data provided during registration or to have them completely deleted. You can request to change or delete your date by sending us a message at the contact details above.
HubSpot
We use HubSpot to manage our customer data. HubSpot is a service provided by HubSpot, Inc, 25 First Street, Cambridge, MA 02141 USA.
The tool allows us to accelerate sales and improve your customer experience by storing and analyzing customer names and (email / IP) addresses. We can create and share content for marketing, sales and customer service.
You can see the privacy policy at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.
Online Order Processing / Shop
If you voluntarily provide us with personal data when placing an order or registering a customer account, we will store and process the data. If stated so in the input form, these are mandatory fields because we need the data to process your contact request, to open your customer account or to process the contract. The scope of the data collected can be seen from the input forms.
We use the data to process your inquiries and to process the contract (and as such rely on the legal basis of performing our contract with you). As soon as the processing of the contract is completed or your customer account is deleted, your data will be restricted for further processing and deleted after expiry of the statutory retention periods if you have not expressly consented to further use of your data or if we reserve the right to use the data within the framework of statutory regulations. You can have your customer account deleted at any time by sending us a message at the contact details above.
We pass on your data to a company commissioned with the processing or delivery of our goods, insofar as this is necessary for processing. In this case you will receive legal information via the respective partner.
Opinion Research
If you participate in an opinion survey on our website, the information you provide will be passed on to us via the service “Survey Monkey”, SurveyMonkey Europe UC, 2nd Floor, 2 Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin, Ireland. Privacy information is available at: https://www.surveymonkey.de/mp/legal/privacy-policy/.
7. International transfers
Some of the third party providers we outline in this policy may be based outside of the UK, or where we share personal data within any group companies we may need to transfer your personal data outside the UK.
Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring that the following safeguards are in place:
- We will only transfer your personal data to countries that have been deemed by the UK to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data, for example the EEA.
- We may use specific standard contractual terms approved for use in the UK which give the transferred personal data the same protection as it has in the UK.
Data security
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal data on our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
9. Data retention
How long will you use my personal data for?
We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.
We delete or block personal data in accordance with the legal requirements after the expiry of one of the periods described above, if no period is specified, as soon as they are no longer required for the purposes mentioned herein or a legally prescribed storage period expires.
To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.
10. Your legal rights
You have a number of rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data.
You have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “subject access request”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.
- Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us.
- Request erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal data to comply with local law. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
- Object to processing of your personal data where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) as the legal basis for that particular use of your data (including carrying out profiling based on our legitimate interests). In some cases, we may demonstrate that we have compelling legitimate grounds to process your information which override your right to object.
- You also have the absolute right to object any time to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
- Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party. We will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Note that this right only applies to automated information which you initially provided consent for us to use or where we used the information to perform a contract with you.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data (see the table in section 4 for details of when we rely on your consent as the legal basis for using your data). However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent. If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain products or services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent.
- Request restriction of processing of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of your personal data in one of the following scenarios:
· If you want us to establish the data’s accuracy;
· Where our use of the data is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it;
· Where you need us to hold the data even if we no longer require it as you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or
· You have objected to our use of your data but we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it.
If you wish to exercise any of the rights set out above, please contact us using the contact details above.
No fee usually required
You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we could refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.
What we may need from you
We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.
Time limit to respond
We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
11. Contact details
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or about the use of your personal data or you want to exercise your privacy rights, please contact us at the contact details above.
12. Complaints
You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO so please contact us in the first instance.
13. Changes to the privacy policy and your duty to inform us of changes
We keep our privacy policy under regular review.
It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us, for example a new address or email address.
14. Third-party links
This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our website, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.
