Take a deep breath with state-of-the-art technology
Schlüsselbauer Technology, an industrial company in Northern Austria, has installed a modern ventilation system as part of a company expansion and their switch to renewable energy.
Customer: Schlüsselbauer Technology
Requirement: Climate-friendly and energy-saving heating, air conditioning and cooling solutions for existing and new buildings
Schlüsselbauer Technology from Gaspoltshofen specialises in strategic drinking water supply and the collection and drainage of wastewater and rainwater. The company develops, produces and assembles ready-to-use machines for a fully automatic production of concrete pipes, pressure and jacking pipes and a variety of other concrete infrastructure components for the global market. All of which is in line with regional and manufacturer-specific requirements. In the case of constructing a new assembly hall with a floor space of 8,000 m² and an office extension in Gaspoltshofen, Dietmar Waser GmbH, with sites in Inzersdorf and Hinterstoder, FläktGroup was awarded the contract for planning of the entire building services. This involved a complete switch from fossil fuels to heat pumps and biomass. This led to the construction of a biomass heating plant including a comprehensive district heating network on the company premises.
Ventilation and air conditioning technology
The ventilation and air conditioning technology were brought up to date with the latest technology.
FläktGroup supplied the following products for the new building:
- CAIRplus Air Handling Units
- Ceiling Flush Active Chilled Beams
- Air Volume Dampers
- Air-to-Water Heat Pumps for Cooling or Heating
- Air-Cooled Chillers for Outdoor Installation
FläktGroup's CAIRplus air handling units combine maximum energy efficiency with the highest level of comfort and flexibility, making them an excellent solution for modern ventilation requirements. Three ventilation units are used: ventilation for sanitary facilities and showers: CAIRplus SX 096.064AVBV; ventilation for the offices: CAIRplus SX 128.096AVBV and ventilation for the assembly hall: CAIRplus SX 096.064IVBV.
Important: dehumidification
The CAIRplus unit for the offices was designed with a specific dehumidification circuit. The dehumidification function is used to ensure the planned performance of the decentralised chilled beams in the rooms. It reduces the cooling capacity required for the application while simultaneously reheating the supply air from recovered energy.
Silent cooling
The active FläktGroup Wega II chilled beams in a 4-pipe design enable efficient heating and cooling. They are equipped with an integrated supply air volume flow control and combined with the Optivent Ultra volume flow controller in the exhaust air – ideal for demand-based ventilation. The system precisely adjusts the temperature profile and air volume flow in each room to the actual demand and user profile. The single room control is done via digital FläktGroup room controllers STRA-24, which are integrated via Modbus into the on-site building management system.
Top air quality
In areas with high footfall, the CO₂ control ensures optimal air quality. In contrast to ventilation systems with fixed air volume flows, the implemented solution enables continuous, demand-oriented adjustment of the air volume flows by means of presence sensors integrated into the chilled beams. When rooms are not in use, the air volume flow is automatically reduced to a minimum. This considerably reduces energy costs while simultaneously ensuring optimal room utilisation and a pleasant room climate. This concept combines maximum user comfort with maximum energy efficiency.
Energy supply
The air-water heat pumps in the FGAH 2020-2081 AG1/2 series are particularly efficient and environmentally friendly. They use a modern refrigerant with significant reduction in global warming impact and are ideally suited to current environmental guidelines. The units are quiet in operation, making them suitable for use in residential areas and offer variants with particularly high energy efficiency. They are efficiently built, undergo a complete test trial run at the factory before implemented and are ideal for heating or cooling offices, shops or hotels. Together with matching air conditioners, they enable an energy-saving and environmentally friendly solution. Additionally, the reversible heat pumps are used to supply energy to the systems all year round – providing heating energy in winter and cooling energy in summer.
Chillers
The units in the FGAC 2004-8092 DG/EG 1/2 series are the latest generation of FläktGroup water chillers. They have been developed to be highly efficient, quiet, flexible for space-saving and are used to support cooling capacity in summer operation. The refrigerant R-454B has very low global warming impact, which reduces the environmental influence by 78% compared to conventional refrigerants. The units offer significant energy savings too thanks to modern technology such as scroll compressors, optimised heat exchangers and optional energy-saving fans and pumps. This often means that they pay for themselves within a year, making them a very good long-term investment. The chillers are ideal for cooling buildings such as offices, shopping centres, hotels and theatres. In combination with other air-conditioning units, they provide efficient and environmentally friendly solutions with low energy consumption and minimal use of refrigerant.
